What’s new under the sycamore trees?

It is a question frequently asked by us here at IBV as we have been working under the shades of our giant sycamores for long years now.

On the occasion of the Hungarian Birds & Arbour Day and Earth Day let us take you down on memory lane and tell the story of our trees.

Everything started in 1968, when the predecessor of IBV, a company manufacturing mining instruments, planted poplar trees on the site. Unfortunately, they were all destroyed in a huge storm some 9 years later. Following the sad event, a decision was made to implant sycamores on and outside the yard after the construction of the currently operating factory buildings. The leaders of the company found it very crucial to put strong emphasis on protecting the environment from noise and creating shade on the site.

IBV took on this approach and planted even more sycamore and ash trees among others 12 years ago to create a green environment on our manufacturing site, helping to reduce pollution, noise and high temperatures during hot summer days.

The shady branches give home to several birds and other small animals too besides creating an attractive ambient for us to work in.

IBV will continue taking care of its surroundings and cherishing its habitat in the coming years, keeping the future of both the company and its hometown, Kiskunfélegyháza, in mind.
