Introducing IBV’s technical team

Meet IBV’s design, mechanical and electric engineers and technical assistants, who make sure that our luminaires are produceable, under the leadership of Zsolt Molnár.

The role of the technical department within IBV’s organisation is crucial.

They are responsible for the task of coordinating all the information on partners’ claims, available technical opportunities and all the knowledge needed to produce the final products.

They
– design luminaires,
choose and test raw materials,
define and approve plastic and metal components,
specify, select and approve electric components,
prepare documents of luminaires for the assembly hall and the sales team,
provide technical support for the other departments of the company (sales, sourcing, assembly hall),
handle approvals and certificates of luminaires (both external and internal),
customise products based on partners’ requests and
take part in new product introductions.

Currently they are working on several projects:

Market introduction of the new TCI LED module and that of the newly purchased third party luminaires and the standardisation of the final products manufactured by IBV based on both partners’ and IBV’s own aspects.

Though every individual team member has different tasks to do, the team leader always puts emphasis on highlighting that each colleague’s contribution is equally important to reach the common goal of the technical department.

Internal communication is as essential as keeping contact with other departments. Team members can do their jobs the most effectively if they cooperate with each other, therefore it is crucial that they have a good relationship with each other.

Both the whole team and each team member is encouraged to share and realise their own ideas. It is a key factor that the entire team considers all the everyday tasks as their own and responds with creative and effective solutions. Frequent feedback is most essential, emphasising the added value of their completed assignments within IBV’s system and clarifying the significance of their contribution to IBV’s success. 

Each morning the team holds a 15–20-minute meeting on the current tasks and difficulties. They prioritise and discuss the responsibilities of the individual team members. 

They have one annual team building to strengthen the cohesion within the department.

The technical team cooperates with the sales, the production and desk teams, the purchase department, the lab, the assembly hall, the plastic processing plant and the quality team on an everyday basis.

We really value the work of the technical department with respect to IBV’s success, as it gives a strong base to the operation of almost all the other teams within the company.
