Packaging change
Dear Partner,
We would like to inform you that, starting from 2026, IBV Hungária Kft. will supply all B2B luminaires in new, plain brown cardboard packaging without paint or printed graphics.
This change affects packaging only. The technical content and quality of our products remain unchanged.
Why is this especially important for B2B sales?
The European Union’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) entered into force on February 11, 2025, and will become mandatory in all EU Member States from August 12, 2026.
The regulation requires that B2B packaging avoids all unnecessary elements, as these do not serve marketing or consumer information purposes. This includes removing decorations, colored graphics, and other non-functional packaging features.
As a result, B2B packaging must be functional, simple, and material-efficient — and our new packaging fully meets these requirements.
Key EU reasons for this change:
- Packaging minimization requirement (PPWR – Art. 10)
Packaging must be reduced in weight and volume; eliminating printing and coatings directly supports this. - Recyclability requirements
From 2030, only packaging with at least 70% recyclability (Grades A–C) can be placed on the market. Plain cardboard fully complies with this. - Reduction of harmful chemicals
The regulation restricts certain substances used in inks and coatings; removing printing reduces their presence. - EU Green Deal & Circular Economy Action Plan
Packaging accounts for around 36% of municipal waste in the EU; minimalist packaging significantly reduces environmental impact. - Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR – 2024/1781)
Supports product design that reduces environmental footprint and improves recyclability.
